Yes my subdomain in freehostia also down, apparantly it still accessable but the web content can not be displayed .. well may be free for sometime but not for long .. I hope it get well soon
Freehostia sent people an email on the Monday 14th October 2008 saying they are transferring to a new data center and that there could be disruption after 24 hours. I then went into my site immediately, well before 24 hours and it was already totally down with a server error. They have closed support and the control panel, they won't reply to repeated Emails and it's now been down for almost 3 days. The Email says the sites won't be down for long, but we can't update anything until the 22nd October by FTP, control panel or otherwise, but my site has been down for ages. They gave absolutely no notice of this and I'm now losing lots of hits, Alaxa rating and search engine positioning. I'm repeatedly emailing them, but they continue to ignore me no matter what I write. I can't even transfer to another host because by not getting any notice, my backup site isn't up to date. I tried replying to the forum, but it seems that this feature has a fault too, no-one has posted anything about updates for the problem. The way they are treating customers is utterly terrible and I've paid for 2 domains with them, one for 2 years. I'll never forgive Freehostia for this.
It's now November 3rd and we still are getting Internal Server errors.
I know moving servers is difficult but this is a little much. I'm reconsidering getting a paid account.
